Indicating ADHD |
 |
|
| Clownesk ADHD students are very present in the classroom. Often they are very movable persons, involved with anything else except their current task(s). When a question is asked, they often want to say the answer first or before their turn. Some ADHD students act like a 'clown': they make funny faces, challenge other classmates who are just started with their task, etc. Underperformance When a teacher tests the children on their learning capabilites and their social emotional development (Licor, Bolero) a few issues will be remarkable. Their learning capabilites are disappointed. ADHD children constantly underperform (50% of the ADHD children will redo a schoolyear once in his/her life). | Self image The constantly underperformance in their study results are influencing their motivation and self image of these children. The relationship between the teacher and the student can be disturbed. The teacher experiences the behavior of this child as annoying, disturbing, challenging and defying. The student however will see the teacher as source of frustration. He/she has to do things in which he/she can not succeed. Every time he/she will hear he/she failed again and did not to do the right thing. Teachers need to indicate this behavior to their parents and school. |
