Plan your educational study environment |

Overlook As a teacher you won't overlook busy children. They talk a lot (and through conversations), move continuously, can not wait for their turn, etc. What people see as busy behavior is subjective. One teacher will not be annoyed by this kind of behavior and sees it as some kind of enthousiasm, the other teacher will see the behavior as heavily problematic. Every teacher has it´s own frame of reference and his own limits. Busy children are dependent of the teacher. Plan your own educational study environment For all children the same basic needs are in place: - need for safety and acceptance (relation)
- need for independancy and make their own choices (autonomy)
- need for positive self image (competence
Teachers can in several ways come towards these basis needs: - - in interacting with children
- - in their instruction
- - in their class organization
| | Educational study environment Download Overview educational environment
Nine areas These nine areas give the most important aspects of an educational study environment. The classification can help teachers with reflectance of their own behavior. What goes right and what can be improved or changed? If the teacher has worries because: - the interaction with the child is disrupted (the teacher can not get a good relationship with the child, is annoyed)
- giving instruction to the child is problematic (the child can not focus, the education does not fit, the child has problems working alone)
- the class management does not go smoothly or there a lot of possible disrupted behavior (the child does not know the rules, during class changes the child is extremely busy, the child walks through the class often and interrupts other children, the teacher does not have enough time for extra attention to this child)
Explicit attention Busy children ask explicetely attenttion from the teacher. It does nog well like with other children. The teacher must choose how to interact, give instructions and how claas management is set up and need to reflect on the effects. What works and waht does not work? There is no onw way of working for children with ADHD. Every child is unique. Every teacher must search for the best studentical environment. |
